Not sure if it made the news outside New Zealand but we have had a small island (White island) erupt killing people visiting the island.  This is about a 1.5 hour drive from where I live and yesterday we had a 5.3  earthquake. Its getting scary. We get our drinking water from rainwater, which is safe at the moment but if the ash cloud gets bigger it will settle on the roofs and we will have to find alternate sources. 
In survivors we see heavy rains flood the basement of food, more diseases but no natural disasters. A natural disaster like an earthquake or volcano eruption could easily wipe out an already weaken civilization. Polluting the water,poisoning the food supply, the ash blocking the air intake on machinery (cars, planes etc). 
Do you think natural disasters are increasing? or is the reporting of them getting better?.
