    Cordon begins with the arrival of an illegal Afghan immigrant in a container, in Antwerp, Belgium. Shortly afterward, he visits the fictional National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) in the city to get inoculated against local infections.

    As people start to become seriously ill with the virus and start dying, public order begins to break down within the containment area. Murder, violence, and theft take hold. Criminals seize control of the food distribution centers while others break into properties or rob from the weak.

    The series follows an epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta, leaving a section of the city cordoned off under quarantine and those stuck on the inside fighting for their lives. Major themes in the series are love, loss, and duty.

    American version of Bulguim tv series Cordon.

    Malcolm Edeson].  I've just received this to read on my holidays at Christmas, I'll report back here but sounds promising even though supposedly aimed at children.

    I never did read that book, read the first few pages but couldn't get into it and was not really the sort of thing to read as you start your holiday :-)

    I have a local copy of the "After Armageddon" film, a while ago since I watched but was very good, well worth watching.

    Thanks for the tip on the Cheryl Taylor book, will keep my eyes peeled for that.

    I never really have the time or inclination to read when not on holiday and relaxed so again saving these up for my next holiday, last time I did listen to the latest Survivors Big Finish audiodrama and re-listened to a couple of earlier ones. The next one isn't out until June as I'm away in May I should hopefully get around to it this time.

    I just finished watching The Rain on Netflix.
    Danish web tv series. In English , no subtitles.

    The Belgian tv series "Cordon "  (2014)season one had English subtitles.
    I was able to watch it on you tube. Here's the trailer.

    I was not able to view season 2 (10 episodes). The few times I was able to find it, the subtitles weren't in English . 

    The USA version was "Containment " which ran for 1 season.
    Takes place in Atlanta. A Syrian man is infected with a very contagious virus.
    It spreads. The city is placed under quarantine to prevent spreading.
