Re: Location info

Have you read the novel "The Night of the Triffids"?

It's a follow up from the original novel, not based on any film or television program. It's a bit like Torchwood Season 4 and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in that it takes a British story over to America.

Some interesting ideas in it though.

Re: Location info

I will look into Night of the Triffids. I have seen the original movie and the remake.  There was a series too.saw that on youtube.
I bought the Night of the Triffids from Big Finish last year.
I had problems downloading Survivors and never got Night to download.

I saw the Tripods. Where was that filmed? I have to look it up. The books ere great. One website didn't have photos.however, BBC show -" Cult of the Tripods" ws jnteredting. Shame they didn't do a third series. The books were good.

Re: Location info

Day of the triffids was just about the first science fiction book I read as a kid.  I found it fascinating and have read it many times since.  John Wyndham portrays cold war paranoia brilliantly, not just in DOTT but also in the kraken wakes, which is another book I love  - and cannot understand why it has not led to a film or tv series.  I wasn't so keen on Night of the triffids as it seemed quite lightweight and a bit rushed.

Welcome to our forum, Ken.
I think making the Kraken wakes into a film or TV series, without altering the original story by a huge degree - would be pretty difficult, if not impossible. It is a great story though I agree. The BBC radio version, was pretty good though. & there is also an unabridged reading of the book available as well.
